The match is held over a period of 48hrs and is a sponsored fishing match.
The match in 2026 will be held at Willow Park Fishery in Ash, Aldershot, this lovely fishery have been our hosts since 2022 and has 4 lovely lakes on site. The match is held on the biggest of these lakes.
Willow Park has some great facilities on site including a on site cafe, toilets, well stocked tackle shop, and shower facilities.
During the weekend there will be other events going on, these include a raffle, bottle tombola and auction with the occasional prize draw. You are also able to purchase cookies, cakes and cast-4-life merchandise at the event with all profits from all of the above mentioned going to Cancer Research Uk.
There are prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place as well as for the biggest single fish and the smallest single fish, the prizes are the following
1st place - Trophy and Gold medal each, Plague (to be returned for each match) bottle of bubbly each and a bait bundle.
2nd place - silver trophy and bottle of bubbly each.
3rd place - Bronze medal and bottle of bubbly each.
Biggest Fish - Trophy, bottle of bubbly and bait prize.
Smallest Fish - Wooden Spoon and Angling Direct Gift Card.
The entry fee to take part in the match is £200 per pair. 50% to be paid at time of reserving spot and balance to be paid at a specified time.
BIG LAKE
The 10 acre Big Lake is home to 400+ head of common and mirror carp up to 32lb with plenty of 20lb+ fish cruising around, making it a popular venue with carpers and night anglers all year round. Depths vary from 4 – 8ft, including gravel bars.
The Big Lake is home to a lovely fully scaled mirror named “The Princess” at 30lb 2oz, check out our Gallery for pictures of these stunning fish. The Big Lake also has tremendous winter form, a great venue to still be with a chance of a fish or three even in the colder months. With 28 purpose built bark-chipped swims, some of which are are big enough to accommodate multiple bivies which are ideal for socials. We have also created steps down in certain swims for when the water level is down which aids safer landing of fish for both angler and fish alike.
Our on-site 5-star food hygiene-rated cafe produces high quality food. We serve breakfasts, burgers and even freshly made pizzas.
Our on-site tackle shop carries a large stock of top brands for both match and carp fishing. Some of the brands we stock include Drennan, Preston, ESP, and Fox. We also stock the following bait including maggots, casters, worms, pellets, ground baits and both freezer and shelf life boilies from the following brands Mainline and Wraysbury Bits. We also stock pop-ups and booster liquids from Dynamite and Sonu Baits.
