How do I enter the match?.

To enter simply go to the store and purchase a spot by clicking the buy it now button.

When will tickets go live?.

The spots are released usually 12 months before the start date of the match.

Do I receive a physical ticket?.

No. There is no physical ticket for the match. You will receive a confirmation email after purchasing your spot but no physical ticket.

Can my family and friends come to support us?.

Yes, the more the merrier, all we ask is that if they come on the Friday it is family only as we would like to keep disturbance to a minimum.
Everyone is welcome to come for the activities on the Saturday afternoon and for the presentation on the Sunday.

How do I donate?.

You can donate by going to the donations page and clicking the donate button.

How do I donate prizes for the match?.

You can donate prizes for the match by dropping us a message via the contact us page and we will then be in contact to arrange collection/ drop off.

What else other than the fishing will be happening?.

Apart from the fishing, on the Saturday there will be a Raffle, Auction, Bottle Tombola, Cake Stall and Merchandise Stall.

What facilities are available at the Venue?.

Willow Park Fishery has the following facilities on site. There are toilet and shower facilities, a fully stocked tackle and bait shop and cafe.

I don't / can't fish am I able to help in other ways?.

Yes. We are always in need of marshal's for the match and volunteers to run the stalls. If this is something you are interested in then just drop us a line via the contact us page and we will get in touch.

What payment methods do you accept during the weekend?.

We accept/prefer cash but we are also able to accept paypal, bank transfer contactless and card payments.

Payment FAQ'S

How much is the entry fee to the match?

The entry fee for the match is £100 per person so a total of £200 per pair.

How much is the deposit to reserve a spot?

The deposit is 50% of the overall entry fee. So it would be £50 per person (£100 per pair).

Can I get a refund on my entry fee if I'm no longer able to fish?

The short answer is no. All entry fee monies are non refundable. If you are unable to take part after paying your fee, it gets donated to Cancer Research UK in its entirety.

When is the entry fee payable?

The deposit to reserve your spot is payable at time of reservation with the remaining balance due approx 10 weeks before the match date.

What happens if I want to enter but have difficulty paying in a lump sum?

If for any reason you are having difficulty with the payments, just drop us a message and let us know and we will try to come to some arrangement that works for you.

What is covered by the entry fee?

Your entry fee covers the cost of the lake and the food package provided to the anglers.
Any monies left over from the entry fee goes to Cancer Research UK.

What payment methods do you accept?

We are able to accept the following payment methods.
Paypal
Bank Transfer
Contactless card payments inc apple & google pay
and Chip and pin.
All contactless and card payments are done using Zettle.

What does the deposit cover?

The deposit is your way of reserving your spot on the match. It is for this reason we ask that the deposit is paid at the time of reserving your spot.

Match FAQ'S

How many spots are available on the match?

There are usually 16 or 17 spots available, the number available will always be listed in the event infomation.

Are there pegs available for disabled anglers?

Yes, we keep the first 2 pegs available for disabled anglers.
In the event that there is only 1 disabled pair they will pick from a bucket peg 1 or 2 and the unused peg will go into the main draw.

What format is the match?

The match is done in the format of a pairs match.

Is there a draw for pegs or is it pick your own?

There is a peg draw before the match starts. It is usually done at 9am at the cafe.

What are the start/finish times?

Peg draw is at 9am on the Friday with the rods in signal at 12pm. The match ends at 12pm on the Sunday.
On the Saturday there is a mandatory break where rods come in between 12pm and 4pm.

Can you pre bait?

Yes, once the peg draw has taken place you can go to your pegs and begin setting up, finding spots and pre baiting.

I want to take part but the match has sold out, what can i do?

If the match has sold out but you would like to fish, then please drop us a message via the contact us page and we will add your name to the back up list.
If in the event someone drops out and spot becomes available we will contact people who has expressed an interest in taking part on a first come, first serve basis.

My partner can no longer fish, what can i do?

If your partner can no longer take part there are a couple of options available to you.
Firstly you can find a new partner to fish with, they will then need to pay their half of the entry fee and your previous partners fee will be given as a donation to Cancer Research UK.
Secondly you can decide to fish the match on your own with 3 rods, however you would then need to pay the whole fee for the peg.
Thirdly you can decide not to fish and give your spot to someone else. Again any fee you have paid will be given to Cancer Research UK as a donation.

Are there set rules for the match?

Yes, there are rules for the match that must be followed along with the lakes own rules.
You can download the match rules from the link on the event information page.

What are the Marshals responsibilities?

The marshals are there to make sure the rules are being followed and to verify and record any fish caught. They will also make sure the fish are handled safely and returned to the water.
They will also help with any boundary disputes.
